If you think St. Peter’s Basilica is big but you've never actually been inside, believe me, you don't truly understand what the word "big" means. It is sacred art at its absolute finest. With the overwhelming number of tourists, it's hard to experience deep spiritual emotions there, but the sheer quantity and scale of the artworks are absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend seeing it at least once in your lifetime.

St. Peter’s Basilica is absolutely magnificent. The scale of the building is truly grand, and the architecture is completely jaw-dropping. The interior details are breathtaking, with incredible statues and beautiful paintings everywhere you look. The atmosphere inside is very special and moving — even for non-Catholics, it feels like a powerful and meaningful place to visit. It was truly an honor to see the largest church in the world by interior size and one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Catholics. A small tip: it’s much better to plan your visit in advance. Booking a skip-the-line ticket is highly recommended, as it helps reduce the waiting time significantly and makes the experience much smoother.

One of the most memorable experiences I have ever had. The building is magnificent, grand, and incredibly beautiful, both inside and out. My partner and I visited the church on two days in a row, as being inside felt truly special and unlike anything else. I highly recommend purchasing a ticket to access the top of the cathedral—the view from above is absolutely stunning and well worth the climb.

Awesome architecture. Very opulent interior location richly decorated in marble and gold. Amazing statues and paintings. Very atmospheric place even for the non religious. Saint Peter's Basilica is a masterpiece of Renaissance and Baroque architecture located in Vatican City, the largest church in the world by interior measure and a major pilgrimage site for Catholics. The Dome (Cupola): Designed principally by Michelangelo, you can climb to the top for a breathtaking panoramic view of St. Peter's Square and Rome. An elevator can be taken partway for an additional fee.

Magnificent place with astounding architecture and steeped with history. All the gold, marble and sculptures inside are very beautiful, to say the least. There is no ticket required to enter the square or the basilica. There is a security check before entering St Peter's square. Wearing large backpacks are not recommended. And you can attend a Catholic Mass led by the Pope on Sunday mornings. However I noticed on that day visitors aren't allowed to bring in water hence there was a pile of water tumblers and plastic bottles outside the security check on that day. Not sure if this happens on other days as well. There is a gift shop in the basilica where you can buy various Catholic religious items, such as rosaries and crucifixes - or you could buy a simple fridge magnet and postcard. Interestingly, there is a priest stationed in a booth right outside the hallway leading to the giftshop who can bless your religious paraphernalia. However, many tourists seem to think he is an information booth to ask for directions. In the square outside, there is post office to buy stamps and also another gift shop. A post box to drop your mail or post cards is just outside the post office.
